Description: The movement of a lightweight water-sealed gasometer bell is transferred to a paper chart on a rotating drum to record respiratory volumetric excursions for lung function studies. Paper speeds of 0.04, 0.2, 1.2 and 2.0 cm/second can be selected. Oxygen consumption can be measured by incorporating a carbon dioxide absorption canister into the breathing circuit. Manufactured by C F Palmer, London. This device coud be used for measuring Vital capacity (VC), tidal volume (VT), inspiratory and expiratory reserve volumes (IRV ERV), as well as Forced Expiratory Volume (FEV1). The illustrated unit is missing its breathing hoses and pen mechanism.
